On the evening of 7 November, “Follow the Road”, the original music live concert “ presented by the Composition and Theory of Composition Techniques major of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and a project supported by Shanghai Culture Development Foundation, was officially staged in the Duanjun Theater of STA.
The core and initial aspiration of “Follow the Road” are the two “Silk Roads” (both “maritime” and “land”) in ancient China, which were of great significance to the economic development and cultural exchange of the world. It integrates the rich and colorful contemporary world language and the well-tempered aesthetics of Chinese traditional art through the artistic creation techniques with the characteristics of the times, and uses the unique music content and performance style to show the audience a high-quality performance featuring both traditional and modern elements, China’s integration with the world and connection between art and society, thereby reflecting and promoting Chinese traditional culture, and absorb the excellent artistic connotation of other countries and nations along the Silk Road.
The works performed at the live concert were all created by teachers and students from the Composition and Theory of Composition Techniques major, which demonstrated the excellent professional quality and rich and colorful artistic styles of our teachers and students. This concert provided the audience a high-quality audio-visual feast with varied styles, thanks to the painstaking creation and preparation by teachers and students of the Composition and Theory of Composition Techniques major to constantly improve the quality of works and optimize the details of performance, as well as to the joint efforts of all creators, performers and staff members.
Follow the Road not only makes the audience appreciate the richness and broadness of the Silk Road, but also makes the audience feel the unique style of our teachers and students. It is believed that teachers and students from the Composition and Theory of Composition Techniques major will continue to create artistic works of higher quality and higher standard, and cultivate more high-achieving professional artists in the future.
