On the morning of 15 November, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held a special meeting on the ideological and political work for moral education and talent cultivation in the Foxi Building on the Huashan Road Campus. STA leaders Xie Wei and Hu Min attended the meeting. Relevant persons-in-charge from the Student Affairs Office, the Teacher Affairs Office, the Publicity Office, the College of Marxism, the Graduate School and the Academic Affairs Office also attended. The meeting was presided over by Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA.
On the basis of implementing General-Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on ideological and political work in colleges and universities and firmly grasping the fundamental task of moral education and talent cultivation, and in connection with the actual situation and specific plans and initiatives, the meeting had much discussion in the aspects of cultivating first-class art talents, creating first-class art works, and serving the people and major strategies of the country and Shanghai with high-quality works.
At the meeting, the relevant persons-in-charge from the Organization Department, the Teacher Affairs Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the College of Marxism, the Student Affairs Office, the Publicity Department, the Party Committee/President’s Office and the Graduate School made speeches in connection with STA’s actual situation and the work of their respective departments/offices, reporting on and carry out exchange in the aspects of drama plus ideological and political education, curriculum-based ideological and political education, “Art China”, campus drama featuring famous educators, drama-based party class, teachers' ideological and political education, and creation on significant subjects matters, on the basis of STA’s characteristics of school running.
At the meeting, Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, set forth the arrangements for further carrying out the ideological and political work for moral education and talent cultivation. Finally, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, put forward specific requirements for nurturing people with culture and for moral education and talent cultivation.
