The 7th Asia International Theatre Academic Symposium was held at the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy from 2 to 3 November. During the symposium, professors, scholars and graduate students from the ShanghaiTheatreAcademy, TaipeiNationalUniversity of the Arts, Osaka University of Japan and Korea National University of Arts engaged in warm discussions on the integration and exchange of Asian theatre.
This symposium jointly organized by the above-mentioned four universities, aimed to promote theatre education and academic research in Asian universities, increase intercollegiate exchanges and enhance the friendship among teachers and students of the different universities. The theme of this symposium was Independence and Integration. The papers published during the symposium involved contemporary theatre and traditional theatre as well as theatre exchange between the East and the West.
Yang Yang, Vice President of the ShanghaiTheatreAcademy, Zhang Weipin, Professor of the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Li Peihong, Dean of the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy etc spoke at the symposium.
