On the afternoon of 25 October, a research meeting on development planning of the Film and Television College of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held in the conference room on the first floor of Foxi Building. The meeting was presided over by Wei Dongxiao, Secretary of the Party branch and Vice Dean of the STA Film and Television College, and attended by the heads of the relevant functional divisions of the Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, heads and professors of brother universities and colleges in Shanghai, representatives of relevant film and television enterprises, and heads and teachers of the STA Film and Television College.
At the meeting, Huang Changyong, President of STA, first delivered a speech on behalf of the Academy. Li Zhenlin, Dean of the STA Film and Television and Dean of the STA Graduate School, made a brief report on the development status, new campus construction and planning outline of the STA Film and Television. Wang Tianyun, former Vice President of the Shanghai Film Group, fully recognized STA’s efforts in training and cultivating film talents and commended their professional and moral qualities reflected in art practice. Peng Qizhi, Director of the Film Division of the Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Yu Zhiqing, President of Shanghai Academy of Education and Science, Director of the Higher Education Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Vice President and Secretary General of the Shanghai Radio, Film and Television Production Industry Association made speeches at the meeting. Professor Zhou Bin, Director of the Film Art Research Center of Fudan University, Professor Chen Xihe and Professor Liu Haibo of the Shanghai Film School of Shanghai University, and Professor Jiang Weimin and Professor Dean burns, Dean and Vice Dean of the Vancouver Film School of Shanghai University, expressed their opinions on the specific issues of the development of the STA Film and Television College, such as the faculties within the College, discipline construction, teachers, research theories, targets and positioning at home and abroad etc. Dong Ying, representative of the Tang De group, and Wang Yun, famous screenwriter, spoke as senior industry representative and outstanding alumni representative respectively. Senior executives and representatives of ARRI China, Shanghai Jinpukun Culture Investment Management Co Ltd, Sony Company and Zeiss Supreme Prime China brought the feedbacks from the forefront of creation and industry. They said that talents in management and technology are the important foundation of the film and television industry, and that in the future, enterprises will actively cooperate with the teaching and practical work of the STA Film and Television College and achieve a win-win situation in the cooperation.
Finally, Wei Dongxiao responded to the speeches and remarks of the leaders and experts from the perspectives of the tradition, positioning and faculty construction of the STA Film and Television College. On behalf of STA, he expressed thanks to all the guests present at the meeting and hoped that the future development of the STA Changlin Road Campus would receive more support from all of them.
