A large-scale concert to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, jointly sponsored by the office of the CPC committee, the Publicity Department, the Student Affairs Office of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) in conjunction with the Chinese Traditional Opera School affiliated to STA, was successfully held in the Shanghai City Theatre and the Duanjun Theatre of STA from 27 to 29 September 2019. Hu Min, deputy party secretary of STA, Zhou Yin’e, deputy party secretary of STA and secretary of the discipline inspection committee, and all the leaders of the Chinese Traditional Opera School affiliated to STA joined with the teachers and students to watch the wonderful performance.
This concert aimed to show the beauty of faith and art, show the dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and sing out the meaningful theme of patriotism through the performance of classic works in the Chinese art treasure house. The concert kicked off with the exciting sound of gongs and drums in the “Celebration Prelude”. The cordial, familiar and beautiful music pieces fascinated all the audience. Finally, in the loud, proud and passionate singing of the song “My Motherland” by all present, the concert concluded successfully.
More than 120 students majoring in music performance for Chinese traditional opera and the whole group of teachers, with the strong support of the school leaders and the concerted efforts of all departments, overcame many difficulties in the past six months and, finally, were presented a passionate, stylistically diverse and beautiful concert for everyone.
Leaders of the office of CPC committee/office of the president, organizational department, publicity department, development planning office, international exchange center, student affairs office of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, leaders of the vocational education department, science and art center of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, leaders of some brother schools and leaders of the Shanghai International Cultural Association also attended the concert.
