On the morning of 20 September, the opening report evaluation meeting of the art studies major project of the National Social Science Fund of China in 2019 "History of Aesthetic Movements in Chinese Film Acting" was held in Shanghai. Government officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau and Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Yang Yang attended the meeting. Evaluation experts included research fallows and professors from Chinese National Academy of Arts, Beijing Film Academy, Nanjing University, Fudan University and Shanghai University. Professor Li Zhenlin of Shanghai Theatre Academy, chief expert of the project, and the leaders of the sub-projects, namely, Professor Zhao Ningyu of Beijing Film Academy, Professor Wu Yajun of Central Academy of Drama, Professor Shi Chuan of Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Professor Feng Guo, also attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wu Aili, Director of the Research Division, Shanghai Theatre Academy.
On behalf of the National Planning Office for Arts and Sciences, Yu Qianhe from the Social Sciences Division of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism congratulated the Shanghai Theatre Academy on the successful major project listing. Professor Li Zhenlin, the chief expert, introduced the overall situation of the project. The seven evaluation experts had a heated discussion and forward suggestions on the topics. Vice President Yang Yang made a concluding speech. Finally, through discussion and evaluation, the expert group unanimously approved the opening report and graded it “excellent”.
