Shanghai’s theme event celebrating the 35th Teacher's Day is held smoothly

On 9 September, My Motherland and I - Shanghai Education System Celebrates the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and Shanghai Celebrates the 35th Teacher's Day, the theme event organized by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, was held in the Xianghui Hall, Fudan University.


This theme event took the endeavors of Shanghai’s education sector to forge ahead over the past 70 years since the founding of New China as the background of times, and put the true stories of some outstanding teachers on the stage in a variety of forms such as multimedia display, face-to-face interviews and situational recitation, so as to set up the examples and call on the education workers throughout the city to keep their original aspiration and mission in mind, carry them forward, and continue to forge ahead.

As one of the organizers of the event, the ShanghaiTheatreAcademy participated in the full process of planning and creation of the event, and also provided the venue for the preliminary meetings. Led by the school leaders, 60 students of the Senior High School Affiliated to ShanghaiTheatreAcademy went directly into the rehearsal of the formations and recitations immediately after their military training.

 700 participants, including representatives of award-winning teachers, persons-in-charge from the Shanghai Education and Health Work Party Committee, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, relevant ministries, commissions, bureaus, districts and universities, teacher and student representatives from primary and secondary schools, kindergartens and secondary vocational schools, representatives of new teachers and normal school students, participated in the various theme activities of the Teachers’ Day Gala.

Yin Hong, Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai, and Chen Qun, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, presented awards to teachers who won the “2019 Shanghai Municipality Model Teacher Award”, the 2019 Shanghai Municipality Talent Cultivation Award and the 2019 Shanghai Municipality Gardener Award. At the end of the event, 400 new teachers from different schools across Shanghai took solemn oaths under the national flag.



After the event, Huang Changyong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of STA, met with the teachers and students of the Senior High School Affiliated to ShanghaiTheatreAcademy who had participated in the event and extended his greetings to them. He took group photos with the leaders and students of the affiliated senior high school and thanked them for their contributions to Shanghai’s theme event celebrating the 35th Teachers' Day.
