On the morning of 22 June, the 8th Faculty and Staff Congress & the 2nd Session of the 12th Trade Union Congress of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held. The formal delegates and non-voting delegates to the Faculty and Staff Congress attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA and Chairman of the STA Trade Union.

The formal session in the afternoon was presided over by teacher Wang Su. First, the delegates in the various groups spoke and reported on the results and recommendations of the group discussions. The delegates in the nine groups fully affirmed President Huang Changyong's report on administrative work, offered advice and suggestions on the work of STA in terms of teaching, management, and raised valuable opinions and suggestions on the future development of STA. All delegates were confident about successfully completing the tasks of STA in 2019 mentioned in the report. At the meeting, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, made a concluding speech and put forward requirements for the work of STA. At the end of the meeting, Wang Su declared the meeting close.
