On 12 June, the municipal government held the appointment ceremony of librarians of Shanghai Museum of Literature and History. Ying Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, presented the letters of appointment to 19 newly appointed librarians and made a speech. Zheng Gangmiao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Director-General of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Chen Qun, Vice Mayor of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and Chairman of the Shanghai Committee of the China Democratic League, attended the ceremony. Professor Sun Huizhu of the Shanghai Theatre Academy is one of the newly appointed librarians. He is the sixth professor of the Shanghai Theatre Academy who has been appointed a librarian of the Shanghai Museum of Literature and History after Wang Kewen, Chen Junde, Ye Changhai, Wang Bangxiong and Yu Qiuyu. Mayor Ying Yong congratulated all the newly appointed librarians on behalf of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
Founded in June 1953, the Shanghai Museum of Literature and History is mainly composed of librarians with high academic attainments and artistic achievements, great social influence and high reputation, covering many fields such as literature and history, painting and calligraphy, theatre, traditional Chinese medicine, performance, publishing, law and so on, and has so far appointed 1,230 librarians. Over the years, the Shanghai Museum of Literature and History has given full play to the professional strengthens of librarians and completed a lot of fruitful work in literary and historical research, artistic creation, and consultation for participation in state affairs.
