Achievements of film and television education of Shanghai Theatre Academy appear in the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival

From 16 to 18 June 2019, the Film Market of 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival was held at the Shanghai Exhibition  Center. As a representative of art universities, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was invited to participate in the “Film Talent Cultivation Pavilion” of the film market. On the morning of the 16th, Zhou Huilin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Director-General of the Department of Publicity of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Hu Jinjun, Deputy Director-General of the Department Publicity of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal Film Bureau, visited the film market. Accompanied by Li Zhenlin, Dean of the College of Film and Television of STA, and Wei Dongxiao, Party Secretary of the College of Film and Television of STA, Director-General Zhou Huilin inspected the exhibition booth of STA where he got a detailed understanding of the history of film and television Education of STA and observed the film and television works of STA students. He was particularly pleased and fully affirmed the achievements of film and television education in STA, especially when it was introduced that the graduation work “Uma” by Shen Di, a graduate of STA, had won China’s first-ever Cinefondation Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2018.

It is reported that the film market will last for three days, covering such areas as film and television investment and financing, production, post-production, special effects, visual effects, distribution, marketing, education, legal affairs and games etc. STA’s participation in the film market of the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival has fully demonstrated the achievements of film and television education in STA over the years, strengthened the exchange and communication with the industry and the film and television education in other universities, and highlighted the unique “STA style”.
