Recently, Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), and Zhang Heng, Vice President of iQIYI and General Manager of the iQIYI Film and Television Literature Research and Development Center, paid a visit to the production of the experimental online play “My Lonely Planet” to observe the actors perform and check the results of practice. Huang Changyong interacted with the main creative personnel and took group photos with them.

“My Lonely Planet” has novel themes and unique characters settings, which not only reflects the struggle process in the workplace, but also depicts the emotional dilemma, and is an excellent work that can show the humanity in all its forms in today’s urban cities and the real struggle and emotional life of the “Post-90s” youth.

Unlike the traditional teaching mode which takes the rehearsal of experimental drama as the test mode, the “experimental online play” aims to develop the teaching and training mode of industry-school integration”. Through the “industry-education-research integration”, iQIYI and Shanghai Theatre Academy let students directly participate in the development, shooting and production of films and TV plays, so as to conducted practice and training simultaneously, and innovate the training system of film and TV talents. The mode of “experimental online drama” can not only help students to think more about performance, but also create more diverse practice opportunities for them. In this play, a number of STA students have participated in the filming and taken up important roles together with the young actors from iQIYI’s “Swan Project”. In the experimental online play, students face the camera directly, test their learning results in practice, and hear the voice of the audience in advance. It also provides direction and support for the teaching of the school and the follow-up planning of the students.
