On the evening of 11 June 2019, in the lecture hall on the first floor of Yifu Science and Technology Building on Fudan University’s Handan Road Campus, teacher Hu Dongyan of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and Professor He Qunpo of Communication University of China and Professor Gao Guoxi of Fudan University talked about core values and artistic expression of public welfare. This open class of curriculum-based ideological and political course was for synchronized live broadcasting to and live interaction with 25,275 students in 66 colleges and universities nationwide live interactive, who participated in an ideological and political lesson altogether. The course brings together the best works of public welfare advertisement in the past 40 years, with the theme of how to make the core values detailed, tangible and implemented, and integrate ideological and political theory courses with touching public welfare advertisements, artistic narration, aesthetic education and moral education. Ma Linhong, executive vice dean of the College of Continuing Education of STA, took teachers and students from the College of Continuing Education to the live broadcasting site to participate in this meaningful ideological and political lesson.
The College of Continuing Education takes ideological and political education as the primary goal of teaching reform. Since the “Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Construction Plan” was launched last year, it has listed teacher Hu Dongyan's “Film and Television Advertising Production” course as a pilot project for focused support, so as to explore the methods of curriculum-based ideological and political construction, and strive to create the “Exemplary High-quality Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Course with Special Characteristics”. This course advocates that the study of specialized courses is to guided and led by socialist core values, and it adopts the teaching modes of massive online open course (MOOC) and flipped classroom to closely combine theory with practical exercises, and organizes classes through vivid and attractive multimedia teaching. Teachers and students of the College of Continuing Education will also jointly polish their works around “socialist core values” as the proposition for public service advertisement, and strive to declare entries to the public welfare advertisement competition of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television to validate the effect of teaching.
