On 1 June 2019, the final of the Shanghai University Student TV Festival Host Competition was held in the auditorium of the Students’ Home Hall at the Minhang Campus of the East China Normal University. As one of the important competitions of the Shanghai University Student TV Festival, the host competition aimed at cultivating and exploring students' oral expression ability and adaptability, and aimed at exercising their practical ability and giving full play to their own specialties, thus setting up a stage for university students to pursue their dreams of youth. After more than three hours of heated competition, Wu Guanyu, a student of BA Broadcasting and Hosting 2018 of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), won the gold medal in this contest.
This year's 12th Shanghai University Student Host Competition received more than 100 entries from more than 40 universities in China between the announcement of the competition at the end of April and the deadline for registration in mid-May. After the review by expert assessors, a total of 28 constants stood out and entered the final stage. As one of the important competitions of the Shanghai University Student TV Festival, the host competition aimed at cultivating and exploring students' oral expression ability and adaptability, with the purposes of exercising their practical ability and giving full play to their own specialties, thus setting up a stage for university students to pursue their dreams of youth.
In this 12th Shanghai University Student TV Festival Host Competition, STA recommended three students to participate and gave them strong support. This competition fully exercised the students' hosting ability and enriched their stage experience. Wu Guanyu's outstanding performance in this competition was highly recognized by the Organizing Committee of the competition, and then he will act as a host at the closing ceremony of the Shanghai University Student Television Festival, representing the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
