On 27 May 2019, in the conference room on the 2nd floor of Foxi Building of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), the College of Continuing Education organized an expert review meeting on the “Scheme for Recognition and Conversion of Tertiary Qualification and Results of Non-qualification Learning of Shanghai Theatre Academy”. With regard to the non-qualification training it offers, the College of Continuing Education has explored a scheme for the recognition and conversion of the tertiary qualification continuing education and results of non-qualification learning, and has especially invited six experts from the Continuing Education Branch of Shanghai Education Evaluation Association to evaluate the schemes. Relevant teachers responsible for the research and management of qualification education explained and reported on the specific concepts of the schemes.
After more than two hours of defense and discussion, the evaluation expert group of the Continuing Education Branch of Shanghai Education Evaluation Association concluded that the “Schemes for Recognition and Conversion of Learning Results of Qualification and Non-qualification Continuing Education at Tertiary Level of Shanghai Theatre Academy” conforms to the spirit of the relevant documents of the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipal Education Commissions, and that based on the characteristics of art majors and characteristics of students’ learning in the college, the schemes build up an overpass between qualification and non-qualification education, make full use of abundant and high-quality educational resources, serve students' growth and development, and promote the construction of a social education system of lifelong learning. The design of the recognition and conversion process of the Schemes is scientific, rigorous and reasonable, and adheres to the principle of substantive equivalence. It is a useful exploration and practice of connecting and linking up qualification and non-qualification education, and is worthy of affirmation. In the past two years, the Art Bridge Program and the Music Performance Talents Training Program of Shanghai Theatre Academy have standardized teaching management, reasonable curriculum setting and fruitful results, and as such are high-quality training projects qualified to be the pilot programs of the Schemes. The main implementation body of the Schemes is Shanghai Theatre Academy, and it is appropriate for the STA itself to organize the expert group to carry out the recognition and conversion work independently. The evaluation expert group unanimously agreed that the Schemes are feasible and operational.
The Continuing Education College of Shanghai Theatre Academy will take the Schemes as the starting point, and will continue to adhere to the learner-centered approach, further promote the transformation and development of continuing education it provides, gradually expand the scope of transformation of non-qualification learning results, break through the boundaries between qualification education and non-qualification education, and promote the growth of talents without restriction.
