On 18 April at noon, in order to implement the Regulations on Smoking Control in Public Places of Shanghai Municipality, control and reduce the hazards of smoking, purify the campus environment and guide the teachers and students to cultivate and establish a civilized, healthy and scientific lifestyle, the Faculty Affairs Division, Student Affairs Division and Logistics and Security Division of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) jointly launched a smoking control advocacy event on the theme of Smoke-free STA, Pure and Fresh Campus.
Teachers and students of STA gathered in front of the STA Experimental Theatre. They took a solemn oath: Take non-smoking as the pride, take uncivilized smoking as the shame, firmly resist the unhealthy phenomenon of smoking, actively advocate a healthy lifestyle; all teachers and students act with one heart and one mind; take combined efforts at all levels and make oneself an example; stay away from tobacco and make it pure and fresh for you and me; STA is full of love and strives for excellence and perfection.
Tang Lituo, Vice president of STA, read out the name list of on-campus smoking control wardens. Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, issued the appointment letters to the on-campus smoking control wardens and announced smoking areas at the three STA campuses. Representatives of teachers and students made speeches, expressing their determination to advocate a healthy lifestyle and jointly create a smoke-free and civilized campus.
Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice president of STA, said in his concluding remarks: In today’s world where common sense is often lost, we need to hold the bottom line even more! As STAers, we must take action with thorough-going measures.”
