On 11 April 2019, the College of Chinese Traditional Opera of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the graduation showcase and job fair for the Year 2019 graduates of BA Peking Opera Performance and BA Music for Chinese Traditional Opera at the White Palace Theatre on the STA Lianhua Road Campus. Nearly 40 leaders and experts from 14 companies and troupes around the country, including the National Peking Opera Company, Shanghai Peking Opera Company, Tianjin Peking Opera, Henan Provincial Peking Opera Art Centre, Fujian Peking Opera Company, Chongqing Peking Opera Troupe and Shanghai Kun Opera Troupe, were invited to the graduation showcase.
Before the performance began, Li Peihong, Dean of the STA College of Chinese Traditional Opera, delivered a speech on the stage, expressing thanks and warm welcome to the guests of honour. Then, the performance began and 13 reporting shows from the Peking Opera Performance major were staged in turn, winning applause from the leaders of the companies and troupes as well as the audience. After the performance in the afternoon, the experts from the companies and troupes moved to the job fair where they had face-to-face exchanges with the graduates.
At 7 pm in the evening, the graduation concert of the Year 2019 graduates of the BA Music for Chinese Traditional Opera began. 13 programs were staged in turn, and the leaders and audiences were fascinated. After the performance, the leaders of the STA College of Chinese Traditional Opera invited leaders and experts from various companies and troupes to take pictures with the teachers and graduates to mark the successful conclusion of the showcase performance.
The graduation showcase and job fair held by the STA College of Chinese Traditional Opera for the Year 2019 graduates of BA Peking Opera Performance and BA Music for Chinese Traditional Opera has been a great success. The employing organizations have fully recognized the teaching standard of STA and the comprehensive quality of our students. A number of students have reached employment intention with the relevant companies and troupes.
