From 7 to 11 May 2018, the China National Arts Fund Management Center (CNAF Management Centre) held the "Combined Inspection and Supervision Conference on CNAF-Funded Projects 2017 and 2018 in Jiangsu and Shanghai” at the Central Hotel in Nanjing. Participants to the conference included some leaders from the CNAF Management Center, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Shanghai Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and Television, the experts from eight organizations including the Ministry of Culture, Tsinghua University, China National Opera House and People's Daily, and the representatives of more than 160 owners of CNAF-funded projects from Jiangsu and Shanghai. A group of 10 people from the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) also participated in the inspection and supervision conference, including the project leaders of the three CNAF-funded projects owned by STA and the relevant heads and staff of the Finance Division, Research Division, College of Chinese Traditional Opera and Creation Centre.

The conference lasted for four days. With a focus on the funding related matters, the agenda of the conference mainly covered three aspects, i.e. project defence, art cost workshop and project training. The three projects owned by STA, namely, "Military Song" (a modern drama), "Director Training Project", and "Playwright and Director Training Project for Puppet and Shadow Puppet", successfully passed the project defence, and were highly praised and recognized by the evaluation experts. The opinions and suggestions on financial management put forward by STA’s Finance Division on financial were unanimously agreed by other organizations present at the conference, and were adopted by the leaders of the CNAF Management Center on the spot.

Taking part in this inspection and supervision conference has further improved STA’s understanding and knowledge of the CNAF projects, and further enhanced the sense of collective honor, which are beneficial to STA’s future endeavours to make greater achievements in the CNAF projects.
