On the every day of 4 May which was the Youth Day in China, the students of the College of Chinese Traditional Opera of the Shanghai Theater Academy (STA) staged a wonderful performance for Chinese traditional opera highlights for the audience at the White Magnolia Theatre, at the invitation of the Weekly Radio Broadcasting Program on Chinese Traditional Opera of the Shanghai People’s Radio Broadcasting Station.

Before the performance began, Ms Li Peihong, Dean of the STA College of Chinese Traditional Opera, gave a speech. She highly appraised the contribution of the Weekly Radio Broadcasting Program on Chinese Traditional Opera to the popularization and promotion of Chinese traditional opera, the introduction of new performers of Chinese traditional opera and the development of the Chinese traditional opera culture as a whole. She spoke highly of the program as "not only the bridge and link between the Chinese traditional opera practitioners and the audience, but also a good window for the appreciation, cultural guidance, demonstration and innovation of Chinese traditional opera."

Ms Li Peihong repeatedly stressed that participating in the stage practice is an important prerequisite for a Chinese traditional opera actor to become successful. The STA College of Chinese Traditional Opera will further broaden the channels for students' social performance practice and create more stage practice opportunities for students. This cooperation with such an excellent platform as the Weekly Radio Broadcasting Program on Chinese Traditional is also an effort of external communication of the College. The STA College of Traditional Opera and the Weekly Radio Broadcasting Program on Chinese Traditional Opera have reached a preliminary agreement for long-term and in-depth cooperation. In the future, the Program will provide dissemination and promotion for the College which will in turn provide high-quality performance contents for the Program, thereby cultivating a stable audience in a collaborative way, then achieving a "win-win" situation.
