On the evening of 28 April, the performance and award ceremony of the 3rd Shanghai University Student Outstanding Cultural and Creative Works (Drama and Dance) Display were held at the Shanghai Theater Academy (STA). Some of the first and second prize-winning works were staged at STA’s Duanjun Theater.
STA was responsible for the collection, cultivation and performance of the works in the drama and dance category of this year's Shanghai University Student Outstanding Cultural and Creative Works Display. Since the event was launched in January 2018, the universities and colleges in Shanghai have enthusiastically signed up and actively participated in it with 108 works from 24 universities. After a three-month process to collect the works, five works were finally elected for the first prize, ten for the second prize and twenty for the third prize respectively for the drama and dance category.
Three dance works and four drama works were staged in that evening, including the group dance “Voice of the Youth” by Shanghai Sport Academy, solo dance “Liao Liao” and group dance “Rising” by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, sketch play “Probability of Life” by the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, physical theatre “Ah Q” by the Shanghai Normal University, sketch play “Stranger” by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and multimedia stage show “Raise the Red Lantern” by the Xianda College of Economics and Humanities of the Shanghai International Studies University.
On one hand, the event of university student cultural and creative works display shows the latest teaching achievements of the higher education institutions in innovation and entrepreneurship. On the other hand, it stimulates the innovative vitality on campus and employment prospects, and explores, incubates and boosts a galaxy of on-campus design and innovative talents with innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and solid professional foundation, as well as builds more extensive employment channels and a broader start-up platform for the students.
