On 30 March 2018, the College of Chinese Traditional Opera of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the 2018 Graduation Concert of the Undergraduate Program in Chinese Traditional Opera Music was held at the White House Theatre on STA’s Lianhua Road campus. That night, the experts and leaders of various troupes came to attend the concert and the White House Theater was fully seated.
There are altogether 17 students to graduate in 2018 from the undergraduate program in Chinese traditional opera music, and 14 of them participated in the concert. The concert was rich in form. Whether it was the solo or the ensemble and whether it was the northwestern folk music or the original Beijing Opera with a strong prairie sentiment, each performance gave the audience a wonderful audio-visual enjoyment. These performances reflected the wonderful combination of Chinese traditional opera and national musical instruments, and brought the audience into the wonderful world of quintessence of Chinese national music. At the last, the screen of the theatre showed the good moments of students' learning and living at STA over the past four years.
At the end of the concert, Ms Li Peihong, the dean of the STA College of Chinese Traditional Opera, spoke on the stage, congratulating the success of the concert and sending a message of best wishes and encouragement to the graduates.
