A poetry festival marking the World Poetry Day was held in the Fengxian District of Shanghai from 17 to 18 March. Professor Huang Yiming of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) took part in a series of activities of the festival including the International Forum on Poetry and Cross-Culture Communication.
At the meeting, Professor Huang Yiming and other 12 experts from home and abroad were appointed "Cultural Ambassador" of the Fengxian District. The Shanghai Declaration on Poetry Development 2018 was also launched at the meeting.
Experts and scholars from universities, Confucius Institutes, museums, memorial halls and publishing houses at home and abroad got together at this event to jointly celebrate the "World Poetry Day". During the poetry festival, a series of activities were held including the literary salon, master class for talent cultivation in ancient poetry funded by the China National Arts Fund, poetry concert, international high-level forum on poetry and forum on Yanzi etc. Renowned masters from home and abroad spent a poetic day in the spring together with the people of the Fengxian District.
