On 15 March 2018, Mr Yin Hong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, together with Ms Yu Lijuan, Secretary of the Shanghai CPC Working Committee for Education and Health, Mr Xiang Yihai, Deputy Director-General of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee’s Research Office, and Mr Guo Weilu, Deputy Director-General of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, paid a research visit to the Huashan Road campus of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). All members of the STA leadership and heads of the relevant functional offices participated in the reception of the visit.

Mr Yin Hong and entourage first came to the reception hall of the Duanjun Theatre where they toured the "TransMedia" art exhibition featuring the works of the teachers and students of STA's College of Creative Studies. Subsequently, they came to the Red Building where they observed the classes of the Acting Department and engaged in cordial exchange with the students of the Tibetan Class of the Acting Department. They also inspected the Costume and Make-up Teaching and Research Office of the Stage Design Department.

At the work report meeting held in the ground floor conference room of the Foxi Building, Mr Lou Wei, Chairman of STA, gave a report on STA's overall situation as well as the work of the CPC STA Committee, and Mr Huang Changyong, President of STA, gave a report on STA’s administrative work. Mr Yin Hong held cordial discussions with the members of STA's new CPC leadership team and administrative leadership team. In his talk, Mr Yin Hong pointed out that the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Government attach a high degree of attention to STA's development and the composition of its CPC leadership team and administrative leadership team and the new leadership teams are already in place.

With regard to next step of STA's development, Mr Yin Hong pointed out that STA should (1) carry on its shoulders the glorious mission to cultivate outstanding cultural and artistic talents who will carry forward the positive energy and core values of socialism, (2) grasp the advantages and characteristics, seize the historical opportunity and strive to promote the development of the school to an even higher level, and carefully prepare for the STA's CPC congress and study and plan well for the long-term development of the school.

Mr Yin Hong also responded to the relevant suggestions and requests put forward by STA with clear opinion one by one.
