People's Congress and CPPCC members from STA actively contribute to People's Congress and CPPCC meetings in Shanghai

On the morning of 27 January, the first meeting of the 13th Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference concluded successfully. Professor Huang Changyong, President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and Professor Li Zhenlin and Professor Wang Su of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, were elected as members of the new CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee. Among them, Professor Li Zhenlin was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Professor Wang Su was elected as a member of the CPPCC National Committee this year. Professor Li Zhenlin is Dean of the Graduate School and Dean of the Film and Television College of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, a member of the China Democratic League and a supervisor of doctoral candidates. Professor Wang Su is the Full-time Vice President of the Trade Union of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

On the afternoon of 29 January, the first meeting of the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress concluded successfully. At the meeting, Ms Dong Jian, Deputy Director of the Department of Broadcasting and Professional Hosting of the Film and Television College of the Shanghai Theatre Academy was elected as a member of the 15th Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress. Ms Dong Jian is a chief broadcaster and the Chairwoman of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Branch of the China National Democratic Construction Association.

At the meetings, the four People’s Congress and CPPCC members from the Shanghai Theatre Academy actively participate in the administration and discussion of state affairs, and actively offered suggestions and ideas focusing closely on the “Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Cultural and Creative industries in Shanghai” (i.e. “50-Article Policy on Shanghai’s Cultural and Creative Industries”) and on accelerating the construction of international cultural metropolis and vigorously promoting Shanghai’s cultural soft strength and in combination with the actual situation of talent cultivation at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Many of their suggestions and proposals were adopted.
