The autumn job fair of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held on the afternoon of 24 November at the STA Experimental Theatre. The job fair was sponsored by STA's Employment Promotion Office and lasted for three hours. 80 recruiting entities were invited to participate in the job fair with their individual booths, including Zhejiang Huace Film and Television Co Ltd, Vivid Media, Shanghai Canxing Culture and Broadcast Co Ltd, Shanghai Culture Square Management Co Ltd, Shanghai Youhug Media Co Ltd, NP Entertainment, Putuo District Cultural Centre, Shanghai Puppet Theatre, Shanghai Opera House, Shanghai Shengtian Orange Media Co Ltd, Jiading Cultural Centre, China Welfare Institute Children's Palace, Movie Channel (Shanghai) Films Co Ltd, Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai Kaixinmahua Culture and Media Co Ltd, Shanghai Times Films Co Ltd, Shanghai Film Art Academy, Hengdian College of Movie and Television, Shanghai Motion Magic Co Ltd, Shanghai Oriental Art Centre Management Co Ltd, Xenaria Shanghai and so on. The recruiting entities included media companies, professional troupes, film and television companies, schools, theaters and cultural centers etc, with a total intended recruitment number of about 1,254 people covering such specialties as professional hosting, editing and directing for television and radio broadcasting, lighting, stage design, dramatic literature, acting for theatre, film and television, directing for theatre, film and television, dance, acting for Chinese opera, creative studies etc.
The Employment Promotion Office made careful preparation and organization both online and offline. As observed on-site at the job fair, the graduates who came to the job fair were more enthusiastic and active. Students were also relatively prudent in submitting their resumes. They tended to submit their resumes in a more targeted way after finding out the information about the recruiting entities and requirements of the positions in advance and taking face-to-face talk with the on-site recruiters from the recruiting entities. Students who were unable to participate in the job fair on the day would still be able to access the recruitment information of the participating entities via the job fair section of the STA’s employment promotion website, and submit resumes via the designated e-mail boxes of the recruiting entities.
