"Return to Parents’ Home on Double Ninth Festival” is a special activity carried out by the Trade Union of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) on the occasion of the Double Ninth Festival of each year. On 1 November, led by Zhang Weiling, Vice President of STA and Chairman of STA Trade Union, this year’s "Return to Parents’ Home" activity rolled out. This year's theme is "Look Forward to the Future". At the invitation of Vice President Zhang Weiling, the retired leaders and some of the current departmental heads of the Shanghai Municipal Education Trade Union, as well as the former chairmen, former vice chairmen and some of the current cadres of the STA Trade Union visited the new Pujiang camps of STA where construction is well underway.
The representative of the Infrastructure Construction Division made a PPT and video presentation about the blueprint and planning of the construction of the new Pujiang campus. The trade union cadres could not help expressing their admiration of the functional layout of the new campus and were full of expectations towards the campus atmosphere featuring the harmonious integration of nature and art that will be felt at the Pujiang campus in the future. They all hoped that they will be able to come more often in two years’ time.
In the afternoon, at the invitation of Deputy Director Ni of Pujiang Town and Chairman Zhang of Pujiang Town Trade Union, the trade union cadres toured the Hengnan Academy and Jiaoye Park in Pujiang Town. Deputy Director Ni warmly introduced that after the completion of the Pujiang campus of STA, the Jiaoye Park, as the “back garden” of STA, will interact closely with the humanistic presence of STA and develop theatre-related characteristics so as to not only enable the teachers and students of STA to feel the charm of the nature at all times, but also make it possible to create an open-air theatre. The establishment of the STA campus in Pujiang will also benefit the people of Pujiang.
