STA holds training session for news and information officers as well as working meeting on building civilized campus

On the afternoon of 1 November, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the training session for the news and information officers as well as the working meeting on building the civilized campus, in the 2nd floor conference room of the Foxi Building. The meeting was chaired by Mr Bao Lifeng, Deputy Director of Publicity Department, and Ms Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the relevant persons in charge provided the interpretation of a series of rules and regulations, including the “Regulations on the Administration of Information Release on the Campus Website of the Shanghai Theatre Academy”, “News and Information Officer Management System of the Shanghai Theatre Academy” and “Work Regulations of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Newspaper”, explained the “Work Regulations of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Wechat Platform” as well as the matters concerning the topic declaration, information release and examination procedures in regard to the Wechat public account of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, made the breakdown of the relevant tasks for building the civilized campus during the 2017-2018 school year and building the online civilization network in 2017, and called for cooperation with united efforts from teachers and staff of all departments to build the civilized campus with joined hands. Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min delivered a speech, setting forth detailed requirements for the work of the news and information officers and the work of building the civilized campus.

Mr Ying Qiang, a famous journalist, was also invited to the meeting to give a lecture entitled “News Value and Interview” to the news and information officers and the student reporters. In the lecture, Mr Ying Qiang elaborated vividly on the 30 years of history of his career in journalism with many wonderful stories which attracted the laughter and applause from the teachers and students present.

Mr Ying Qiang is now Deputy Director, Office of Shanghai Cultural and Creative Industry Promotion Leading Group. He was previously Director, Journalism Research Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and Director of News Department, Special Contribution Department, then Economic Department of a leading newspaper. He was the recipient of the titles of “National Top 100 Journalists” and “Star of Chinese Newspapers” and the recipient of the “Fan Changjiang Journalism Award” of Shanghai. During his 30 years of career in journalism, he published 12 books and was the editor-in-charge for Shanghai’s first “Shanghai Media Blue Book”.
