On the morning of 24 October, the Student Affairs Office of STA held a themed training entitled “When Communication Encounters Drama – Dialogue with 'Three Brains' and Discover Another Self”, which is one session of the training series for the counselors and head teachers.
STA’s Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min attended and participated in the training session. The training was chaired by Director of Student Affairs Office Xu Yong and attended by the relevant teachers from the Student Affairs Office and Youth League Committee as well as the counselors from the various colleges and departments.
The training was provided by Sun Yuyang, a voice teacher from the Acting Department, who provided simulation and analysis of different kind of problems encountered in the student affairs work from the angle of communication.
The whole training was conducted in a theatre situational model and was full interactive exercises of fun and explanation of clear thinking. All participating teachers were left wanting more after the three-hour training and expressed the desire to continue to participate in the relevant training exercises.
The capacity building and quality improvement of the counselors and head teachers are critically important to the performance of ideological and political work pertaining to the university students. Establishing a sound communication relationship between the counselors, head teachers and students is beneficial to solving the potential psychological problems of the students, thus creating a more stable and harmonious environment for the students and promoting the realization of the “perfection-oriented” goals for art talents cultivation. Moving forward, the Student Affairs Office will continue to organize themed training for the counselors and head teachers.
