On the morning of 8 September 2017, the STA Chinese Traditional Opera School held the faculty and staff assembly meeting of 2017-2018 school year (first semester) was held in the White Palace Theater. School leaders attending the meeting included Party Branch Secretary Han Yongsheng, Vice Principle Song Lei, and Party Branch Deputy Secretary Liu Aixiang. The agenda of the meeting included two parts, i.e. (1) self-introduction by the faculty and staff newly joined in 2017 and (2) review of the work during the summer vacation and report on the work arrangements for the new semester by the relevant members of the school leadership.
The meeting started with the self-introduction and induction speeches by the newly joined faculty and staff members. This was followed by the report on the work arrangements for the new semester by the members of the leadership in charge of the various departments. Hu Genfu, Chief of Education & Supervision Office, gave the report first. Deputy Secretary Liu Aixiang provided a report to all faculty and staff reviewing the work carried out during the summer vacation. Song Lei, Vice Principle, gave a report to the assembly meeting on the infrastructure construction of the school. He also gave a report on the funding and finance of the school. In the next session, Teacher Guo Lei gave a report on the school’s participation in the competition of the Teaching Exchange and Showcase of the China Peking Opera Arts Foundation Advanced Training Program for Young and Middle-Aged Teachers. Teacher Li Yue of the Theatre and Film Group gave a report on the Denmark trip.
Secretary Han Yongsheng made the concluding remarks towards the end of the meeting. He first expressed the best wishes to all teachers present for the upcoming Teacher’s Day and then announced the good news about the school winning prizes and awards at the 21st Small Plum competition during the summer vacation.ahead of the then conveyed to the faculty the school during the summer vacation. He recalled the work during the summer vacation, acknowledging the hard work of the teachers and students which had brought in return the fruitful results. For next semester's plans and arrangements, he pointed out that the tasks for the work in different areas are significant in terms of the importance and workload and as such should start as early as possible and be completed in a careful and serious manner. He emphasized to all faculty and staff the importance of the school’s regular work and explained in detail the essentials of the work of the different functional departments of the school.
In closing, Party Secretary Han shared the school’s vision for the new semester. Han Shuji said the school is willing to create a good working, learning, living and interpersonal environment for everyone to make the campus a place where the students and teachers can grow and develop in an enjoyable way.
