Shanghai Theater Academy signs strategic cooperation agreement with the National Centre for the Performing Arts

On 31 August 31, the Shanghai Theater Academy and the National Centre for the Performing Arts signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing.

In the past two years, the Shanghai Theatre Academy’s dance drama "Red" and modern drama "Macbeth" participated in the performances during the “Flowers of Spring and Fruits of Autumn – Art Schools Stage Art Showcase Week” sponsored by the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Building on this foundation, the Shanghai Theatre Academy will carry out deeper cooperation with the National Centre for the Performing Arts. In order to strengthen the strategic cooperation and artistic exchange between the Shanghai Theater Academy and the National Centre for the Performing Arts, strengthen and improve the higher education in art, explore the model for art education, upgrade and promote the level of talent cultivation and achievements in artistic creation. The two sides will carry out strategic cooperation in the areas of faculty study visit, student practice, research, off-site teaching, joint production, in a view to achieving a win-win cooperation and joint development.

Huang Changyong, President of Shanghai Theater Academy and Chen Ping, President of National Centre for the Performing Arts signed the strategic agreement on behalf of the respective organizations. Qian Shijin, guest professor and advisor of art management major of the Shanghai Theatre Academy attended the signing ceremony. Attending the signing ceremony from the National Centre for the Performing Arts were Zhao Tiechun, Vice President, Wang Cheng, Director of General Office and Li Qi, Director of Human Resources Department.

The National Centre for the Performing Arts is now an important base with the integration of industry, learning and research for the teachers and practice opportunities for the students.
