STA’s Year 2016 undergraduate enrollment exams rolled out in the morning of 18 February. With the close collaboration of all relevant departments and careful arrangements made in advance, the entire campus was in perfect order. The examinees were cheerful with warm smile on their faces showing their longing for STA, the palace of art in their heart. Leaders of STA attached great importance to the student recruitment. Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min and Vice President Huang Changyong came in person and conducted a patrolling inspection of the exam venues.
At 10 am, STA held a media briefing at the Foxi Building to answer the questions raised by the reporters from the media with regard to this year’s recruitment policies, recruitment regulations and number of applicants etc. Vice President Huang Changyong, Director of Publicity Zhang Shengquan and Director of Recruitment Office Xu Yong attended the media briefing. More than 20 national and local media organizations sent reporters to cover STA’s enrollment exams, including Xinhua News Agency, China Education Daily, Peole’s Daily Online, China News, Jiefang Daily, Ximin Evening News, Oriental TV, Hunan Satellite TV and Zhejiang Satellite TV etc.
This year, STA will recruit 453 students in total, while the total number of applicants reached 22,647, a 100% increase from last year. Among all majors, the major of theatre, film and TV acting, which is traditionally one of the leading majors of STA, attracted 5,961 applicants, while the number of placements is 30, constituting an acceptance ratio of 200:1.
