STA students win awards at Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival’s international micro-film screening

On 26 January, the first International Micro-Film Screening of China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival was held at the National Convention Centre in Beijing. Huang Lili, a students STA College of Film and TV, won the Excellent Film Award for her film “Mei Mei” Huang Tianxiao, another student of STA College of Film and TV, won the Excellent Film Award for University Participants for his film “Pandora”.

This international micro-film screening was attended widely by films from home and abroad. Within just one and half months, the organizing committee received more than 7,000 micro-films including over 6,000 from domestic and international universities. There were over 100 films from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, as well as over 200 films from such countries as the USA, Russia, Italy, UK, France, Korea and Canada. After the preliminary selection, over 200 films including 18 from overseas were nominated. Then, after the final selection by over 20 members of the film and TV examination committee and artists at the national level, 70 films received the Excellent Film Award, including 63 domestic films (with one from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and 7 foreign films.

Authorized by the China Film Association, the international micro-film screening of the China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival is the only official micro-film screening event in China, which features high level, high quality and wide impact as its three highlights.
