Shanghai Theatre Academy’s International Master Class in Art Management 2015 is concluded

The two-week-long international master class in art management of our Academy, which run from 7 to 18 December 2015, was concluded with success. The international master class in art management provided the relevant personalities of the art, media and entertainment circles with a superb opportunity for further studies.

 

The master class was sponsored by the Shanghai Theatre Academy and organized by the International Project Centre of its College of Creative Studies. The speakers were professors from overseas top-tier professional colleges and industry leaders engaged by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and the trainees were from across China. The master class aimed at cultivating high-level talents in art management, theatre management and entertainment production, bringing together domestic and international troupes on the same platform for face-to-face communication and broadening the horizons of trainees.

 

The keynote speakers and trainers this year included Ms Victoria Nolan, Executive Associate Dean of the Yale University School of Drama and General Manager of the Yale Theatre; Ms Anne Trites, Head of the  Development Department of the American Theatre Development Fund and Professor of Yale University School of Drama; Mr Harold Wolpert, Head of the Overseas Development Department of the Denmark International Children's Theatre Festival; Mr Harold Wolpert, Chairman of the Roundabout Theatre Management Group; Mr Andrew Hamingson, General Manager of the St. Ann's Warehouse Theatre. The curriculum was divided into two stages and all taught in English with on simultaneous interpretation on site.

 

The graduation ceremony was held in the Virtual Studio. Mr Huang Changyong, Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Huang Changyong, Ms Victoria Nolan, Executive Associate Dean of the Yale University School of Drama, Ms Anne Trites, Head of the Development Department of the American Theatre Development Fund, and Ms Zhang Lei, Head of the International Project Centre of the STA College of Creative Studies presented the completion certificates to and took group photos with the trainees.
