To celebration the 70th anniversary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), the China Dance Higher Education Academic Conference organised by STA Dance College began today. The theme of this 3-day conference is “Base on the Present, Face the Future”.
The Duanjun Theatre of the Shanghai Theatre Academy was a full house in the morning. Dance experts from 35 leading music and dance colleges, including 31 Laban Music and Dance College, London Modern Dance School, Beijing Dance Academy, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Taipei National University of the Arts, participated in the conference. These experts jointly launched this submit of the dance circle and talked freely about the current status and future of higher education in dance. The students of STA Dance College attending the conference were greatly benefited by all these.
In the evening, the teachers and students of STA Dance College performed the original dance poem “Red”, presenting a visual feast for the experts and delegates participating in the conference. This dance poem for which STA Party Secretary Lou Wei is the planner and scriptwriter had performed at the National Theatre in Beijing and received unanimous favourable comments.
