2014-2015 Academic Year Awarding Meeting for Excellent Students is held

In the afternoon of 19 November 2015, the Shanghai Theatre Academy held its Awarding Meeting for Excellent Students in 2014 – 2015 Academic Year at the White Palace Theatre on its Lianhua Road campus.

The awarding meeting began in the majestic national anthem of the People’s Republic of China. Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min gave an overview of the awards received by the students. In 2014-2015 academic year, 686 students received different kinds of awards and prizes. Among them, 8 students received national and municipal level scholarships, 429 students received the comprehensive scholarship of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, 196 students received the specialty scholarship of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, 42 students received freshman scholarship, and 11 students received the Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera scholarship.

Vice President Zhang Weilin, Vice President Gong Baorong and President Han Sheng read out the name lists of winners of the group awards and individual awards. All award winners and representatives of the group awards went onto the stage to receive the awards in the invigorating and inspirational music.

Two student representatives gave speeches on behalf of all group award winners and scholarship winners.

Party Secretary Lou Wei also gave a speech. He congratulated the award winning individuals and groups and thanked all colleagues working tirelessly and contributing silently to the work of student affairs. He urged the award winning students to live up to the recognition of those who have elected them, regard the honour as a higher expectation of the teachers and fellow students, see it as a step towards increased efforts and further progress, and turn it into a responsibility to meet the expectations and a motivation to keep advancing.

At the end of the awarding meeting, the inspirational anthem of the Shanghai Theatre Academy was played again in the theatre. It symbolized that in the upcoming Year 2016, the students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy will continue to learn solid professional skills mindful of their dreams and with a down-to-earth approach, preparing themselves for taking up the responsibilities in the future to lead the advanced culture.
