On the afternoon of 29 September, Mr Robert Lacombe, Counsellor for Cultural and Educational Cooperation, French Embassy in Beijing and Director, French Cultural Center in Beijing Director, visited Shanghai Theatre Academy, accompanied by Mr Paul Freches, Cultural Consul, French Consulate-General in Shanghai, and Mr Nan Chen, Cultural Affairs Commissioner, French Consulate-General in Shanghai. They were warmly received by Professor Gong Baorong, Vice President of STA. The two sides carried out in-depth discussion about further strengthening communication and expanding cooperation.
Vice President Gong Baorong briefed the guests on Shanghai Theater Academy’s developments in international cooperation in recent years, especially, the outcomes of cooperation and exchange with French art schools and artists, hoping that the French Embassy would build the communication platform and further promote the depth of cooperation projects. Mr Lacombe expressed the willingness to provide even more support in the future to STA’s cooperation projects with France and, especially, make increased efforts in STA’s cooperation and exchange with the major theatrical institutions in France, promotion of French contemporary dramatic art and participation in Avignon Theatre Festival and other important art festivals.
