On 26 September, delegated by the National Hanban, the Chinese Cultural Exchange Tour Show Group formed by teachers and students of the Chinese Traditional Opera College of our Academy staged an exchange performance at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. The performance was organized by the Scottish Confucius Institute for Business and Communication The performance packed that night, and the atmosphere was very warm. The Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh Pan Xinchun and all Consulate staff attended to watch the performance. Consul General Pan delivered a passionate speech on stage before the show. He also invited the tour group to visit the Consulate at the Moon Festival night to enjoy and celebrate the festival together with the Consulate staff.

At the performance night, the foreign director of the Scottish Confucius Institute for Business and Communication in Heriot-Watt University presented the university’s coat of arms of the university to our tour show group and we reciprocated with the video of the performance.

During the party, the teachers and students of the Chinese Traditional Opera performed the full enthusiasm a number of Peking Opera and Kun Opera fragments as well as a number of instrumental ensembles. Their superb artistry and cheerful music inspired the warm applause from the British and Chinese audience once and again.
