On the morning of 31 August, the opening ceremony of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) Year 2015 Overseas Collaborative Program was held in Classroom 209 of the Red Building. Prof Huang Changyong, Vice President of STA and relevant officials of STA’s College of Creative Studies attended the opening ceremony together with the Year 2015 students and their parents.

Since its inception, at the Overseas Collaborative Program executed through the College of Creative Studies, 95% of the students went to pursue their bachelor degree studies at overseas universities after successfully completing the preparatory and foundation courses at STA, while the other 5% of students chose to stay in China to start up their own businesses. Over the past few years, among the students pursuing further studies overseas, 25% of them went to City University, London, UK, 25% went to UNITEC Institute of Technology, New Zealand and 50% wen to New York Film Academy, USA. Meanwhile, this year saw the addition of another overseas partnership university, i.e. University of South Wales, UK, which further increases the students’ choices of pathways for overseas studies.

The students of the Overseas Collaborative Program are fortunate as they have the opportunity to be nurtured by two universities in different cultural and educational atmosphere, while they also take on great responsibility on their shoulders including the earnest and eager expectations of their parents and teachers. Therefore, it is hoped that the students would be able to live up to everyone’s expectations by achieving great results in their studies and becoming a qualified international undergraduate student, with the joint efforts of themselves and all parties concerned.
