Creative works of STA teachers and students participate in PQ2015

The 13th Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ 2015) began on 18 June. Established in 1967, this international exhibition is the world’s largest and most authoritative event in scenography and enjoys the reputation as the Olympics in scenography. The Prague Quadrennial on each occasion has attracted the participation of dozens of countries bringing a great number of theatre artists from across the world to get together at this beautiful ancient city.

PQ2015 presented the works of more than 1000 artists from nearly 70 countries and regions. Every country had a national pavilion and a student pavilion which were located in the old buildings in the streets and lanes of Prague. In the meantime, there were also 600 live event including performances at public venues, workshops and lectures.

The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), Central Academy of Drama and National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts together took up the student pavilion of China under the theme of “Old Model and New Subject. “The Famous Actress“, creative work of Prof Han Sheng, President of STA, was one of the eight works that presented China in PQ2015 and participated in the national exhibition.

On the opening day, designers and counterparts from different countries stopped to enjoy the creative works of STA students. The students of STA Department of Stage Design had cordial exchange with the foreign designers in a lively and relaxing atmosphere at the site.
