Yesterday, the plaque unveiling ceremony of Huashan Creative Park and creative industry forum were held, marking the cooperation between the Jing’an District and Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) in establishing the STA Rim Cultural and Creative Industry Clusters and deepening the integration and sharing of quality resources by the district, university and industry.
Industry representatives stated at the forum that cultural parks have sprung up in Shanghai and many other cities in China over the recent years, but many of those bases are facing the bottleneck of being just a real estate development and failing to give the full play of the core functions of education and culture. In the contrast, the Huashan Creative Park project relies on the existing research and creation spaces and emphasizes on the integration of teaching resources and space resources through the design transformation of the façade and internal environment of the buildings as well as the full utilization of the academic strengths to develop a cultural and creative base on the themes of drama, arts, fashion and culture, which aims to promote the cultivation of cultural and creative talents and the industrialization of the university’s teaching and creation results, thereby striving for the maximum co-development of the university, local district and enterprises.
