In the spring season, led by Teacher Huang Hui, the student representatives of the Year 2013 Chinese traditional opera musical theatre class went to the Pingyang Elderly’s Home to visit the seniors with no family as part of the Angel’s Loving Care Program. At the elderly’s home, the students showed their recently rehearsed singing and dancing performances to the seniors, and Teacher Huang Hui bought tea and fruits and gave them to the seniors as gifts.
As for the purpose of the visit, Teacher Huang said that everyone will get old one day and it is hoped that this visit by the students would let the seniors feel the charm of art and be happy and enjoy good health and longevity in the appreciation of the beauty of art. It is also hoped that it would enable to students to learn how to extend the loving care to the others and maintain a grateful heart while studying art.
The seniors followed Teacher Huang Hui and sang the song “Mother” together. The elderly’s home was filled with the sound of the blessing song. The seniors were so happy in this warm atmosphere with smiles on their faces and happy tears in their eyes. The manager of the elderly’s home thanked the teachers and students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy for their caring love and passion and for bringing such wonderful performances full of youthful vitality into the elderly’s home. He looked forward to them coming more often in the future.
