On the morning of 21 March, the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Theatre Academy 2015 On-job MFA Program was held at the New Space Theatre. Leaders of the Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Party Secretary Lou Wei, President Han Sheng and Vice President Gong Baorong attended the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Vice President Gong Baorong, who extended the warmest welcome to the new students of the 2015 MFA program (i.e. the 10th MFA program). Then, the representatives of the existing MFA students and new students of the 2015 program made speeches.
Party Secretary Lou Wei had an open exchange with the new MFA students. He advised that it is important for the new students to, in the course of their study, resolve the problems encountered previously with continued efforts to explore and resolve the same. He encouraged the new students to treasury the upcoming MFA study experience that has not come easily and have the courage to challenge themselves in a comprehensive way.
President Han Sheng expressed his expectations for the new students. He said that postgraduate study is essentially different from undergraduate study and is the second chance of one’s life and career. No matter whether the students are from the Shanghai Theatre Academy itself or other universities, the MFA study is new to everyone and is in the face of the new opportunities and challenges of the cultural undertakings of China and Shanghai. He hoped that all students will keep all these fresh and maintain the enthusiasm for art.
