On 11 March, Mr Mathias Lafolie, Cultural Counsellor of Swedish Embassy in Beijing visited the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), accompanied by Ms Susanna Wan, Cultural Officer of Swedish Embassy in Beijing and Ms Adam Sarac, Cultural Officer of Swedish Consulate-General in Shanghai. Mr Gong Baorong, Vice President of STA, received the guests. Ms Zhang Yunlei, Deputy Director of STA International Exchange Centre, attended the meeting.
Mr Lafolie is also a renowned theatre director and producer. He spoke highly about STA’s attempts in the international exchange in modern theatre during the recent years and gave the full recognition for a series of activities that STA has undertaken in relation to Swedish theatre including seminars and publications. In the meantime, he expressed that both the Swedish Embassy in Beijing and Swedish Consulate-General in Shanghai will provide support to STA’s activities related to Swedish theatre and hoped that there will be further cooperation and exchange in the future. After the meeting, Mr Lafolie and party had a tour of the various theatres of STA as well as the collection of sculptures of Chinese and foreign theatre masters at the Theatre Avenue on the STA campus.
