In the afternoon of 17 January, the key leaders and relevant responsible officials of the Qianjiang Municipality of Hubei Province visited the Shanghai Theatre Academy for discussion about the cooperative projects in 2015. The leaders of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, including Mr Lou Wei, Party Secretary, Mr Han Sheng, President and Mr Guo Yu, Vice President attended the meeting, as well as the responsible officials of the President’s Office, College of Continuous Education and Organizational Department.
The leaders of both sides reviewed in retrospect the friendly cooperation and exchange between the two sides over the past few years and shared a high expectation on this kind of university-local government cooperation going forward. Both sides had detailed discussion about the cooperative projects in 2015. On the basis of the principles of resource sharing and mutual complementarity and in the spirit of the existing Letter of Intent on the Strategic Cooperation between Shanghai Theatre Academy of Qianjiang Municipal People’s Government and the Cooperation Agreement on the Promotion of University-Local Government Cooperation in Support of the Development of Cultural Industry of Qianjiang Municipality, both sides agreed on the following concrete directions for the cooperative projects discussed previously:
1. Cultural exchange and academic research: a joint exhibition of fine cultural works on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War on the theme of “Cao Yu’s Drama Culture”; experts of Shanghai Theatre Academy to provide guidance on the exhibition upgrading of the Qianjiang Cao Yu Memorial Museum and compile the exhibition programs; exchange of experts and professors between Hubei Provincial Huagu Opera Research Institute and Shanghai Theatre Academy to give lectures.
2. Cultivation of talents and teachers for Jianghan Vocational College and Hubei Provincial Huagu Opera Company: training of lighting technicians, sound technicians, choreographers and music creators, acceptance of directors and choreographers of Huagu Opera Company for further studies at Shanghai Theatre Academy, and cultivation of one or two professional staff with bachelor degree for Huagu Opera Company; cooperation between Jianghan Vocational College and Shanghai Theatre Academy in degree education (technical secondary school and adult education for bachelor degree) and social training (pre-exam and post-employment).
3. Jianghan Vocational College appointing three academic leaders of Shanghai Theatre Academy’s dance performance, music performance and artistic design majors as the advisors of its discipline/major development and applying for the title of “Chutian Famous Skill Instructor” for them.
