At the invitation of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Mr Wu Jianmin, former Chinese Ambassador to France and former President of China Foreign Affairs University, gave a lecture on current international affairs at Shanghai Theatre Academy. The lecture was held at the New Space Theatre. The leadership and entire middle management of Shanghai Theatre Academy attended the lecture together with representatives of teachers and staff and representatives of students.
Ambassador Wu served for many years in Chinese foreign services during which time he also acted as interpreter for Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou and other senior Chinese leaders. His official posts included Counsellor of the Chinese delegation to the United Nations, Director-General and Spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Press Department, Chinese Ambassador to France and President of China Foreign Affairs University, on which he made outstanding contributions to delivering China’s voice and presenting the image of the new China internationally and to developing China’s foreign relations. In 2011, Ambassador Wu accepted the appointment as an honorary professor of Shanghai Theatre Academy. Since then, he has come to give lectures on a number of occasions, which were warmly welcomed by the teachers and students.
