He Yuting, a student of Shanghai Theatre Academy, wins Best Script Award at 2014 Radio and TV New Media Micro Video Competition

In the evening of 18 December, the awards ceremony of the 2014 Radio and TV New Media Micro Video Competition was held at the 2400 m² broadcasting hall of the Chongqing Radio and TV Group and was broadcasted live to the whole country by the Chongqing Satellite TV and iQiyi.

As a national-level competition, this competition was co-sponsored by the China Radio and TV Association, China University of Communication and Chongqing Radio and TV Group. The theme of the competition was “The First Micro Video Realizes Your Star Dream”, aiming to ignite the spark of dreams of high-achieving professional and non-professional production teams and build up a stage to help them realize their “star dreams”.

Since the launch of the competition, it had attracted the wide and active participation of university teachers and students, professional production agencies and members of general public from 28 provinces and autonomous regions with a total of 1800 plus video works and 800 plus scripts. In comparison with last year, there was a significant growth in terms of numbers and quality. There were also participants from Hong Kong SAR and the USA, showing a greatly increased impact.
Altogether, seven single-item awards in the video category including Best Feature Short Film Award and Best Documentary Award, four excellence awards, as well as the two highest awards, i.e. Best Script Award and Best Micro Video of the Year Award, were announced at the awards ceremony. He Yuting, a Year 2011 student of Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Theatrical Literature Department won the Best Script Award for her works “Granny in the Garret”.

"Granny in the Garret” was He Yuting’s homework in the “New Script Creation and Studies” course given by Prof Lu Jun, Director of Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Theatrical Literature Department, which was completed under the guidance of her teacher Huang Xi. In her award acceptance speech, He Yuting said that she is most grateful to her teachers at Shanghai Theatre Academy, who have taught her bit by bit how to write a script and write it well and that the road into the future is still very long and she will continue with her efforts going forward.

This awards ceremony was also the launch ceremony of the 2015 Micro Video Competition. The registration channel was officially opened at the official website of the competition from yesterday.
