7th China Democratic League Shanghai Higher Education Forum is held at Shanghai Theatre Academy

On 13 February, the 7th China Democratic League Shanghai Higher Education Forum was held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Over 70 people participated in the forum, including the senior representatives of the China Democratic League (CDL) committees in the major universities in Shanghai as well as experts and scholars from other universities who are CDL members or non-CDL members.

The morning session was for keynote speeches. Prof Li Zhenglin of the Shanghai Theatre Academy gave a keynote speech on the topic of The Cultural “Regimen” of Art Disciplines. The other keynote speakers were from the East China University of Science and Technology, Donghua University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Normal University and Shanghai Finance University respectively. The afternoon session was for panel discussion. The participants had active and warm discussions on the topics of general education, innovative education and education evaluation.

This forum was sponsored by the Higher Education Committee of CDL Shanghai Municipal Committee and organized by the CDL Committee of Shanghai Theatre Academy. The higher education forum is a brand forum of the CDL Shanghai Municipal Committee and the theme of this year’s forum was Deepening Comprehensive Reform in Education Sector and Promoting Scientific Development of Education Undertakings. The previous six forums were held at the Shanghai International Studies University, East Chia Normal University, Tongji University, Donghua University, Fudan University and Shanghai Ocean University. The higher education forum of each year focused the hot issues in education at the time, enabled the universities in Shanghai to exchange information about education and teaching reforms, provided suggestions and opinions for university development in Shanghai and government’s decision-making, and enhanced the interaction among the CDL committees of the universities concerned.
