Recently, a delegation of over ten people from Seoul Institute of the Arts comprising Mr Yoo Duk Hyung (President), Mr Nam Sang Nam (Board Director) and Mr Gu Hwan Young (Vice President) visited Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). STA officials attending the meeting with the guests included Mr Lou Wei (Party Secretary), Mr Huang Changyong (Vice President), Mr Sun Huizhu (Professor) and Ms Zhang Yulei (Executive Deputy Director of International Cooperation Centre).
The main purpose of the visit by Seoul Institute of the Arts was to establish the formal cooperation and exchange relationship between the two universities covering the areas of exchange of visits by professors, student exchange, joint cultural and artistic creation and other projects of substance. Both sides introduced their respective strengths and characteristics in terms of teaching and programs and showed the short videos of the respective universities. Mr Yoo Duk Hyung spoke highly about STA’s efforts in the modernization and internationalization of the traditional arts and expressed a keen interest in exploring cooperation in this area.
In the afternoon, the delegation of Seoul Institute of the Arts visited SAT’s virtual studio and went to STA’s Lianhua Road Campus where they observed the classes of Chinese traditional opera, puppet and dance. The two universities will implement the cooperation as soon as possible to further promote the traditional culture and arts of their respective countries and cultivate cultural and artistic talents of high quality.
