On 17 November 2014, Mr Mehrdan Rakhshandeh, Cultural Consul of Iranian Consulate-General in Shanghai, visited Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). Mr Zhang Jun, Director of STA President’s Office, and Ms Zhang Yunlei, Deputy Director of STA International Exchange Centre, received the guests. Mr Mehrdan Rakhshandeh expressed that both Iran and China are ancient civilizations with long history and rich culture and there is a great scope for further increased culture exchanges between the two sides. Mr Zhang Jun introduced the situation of the Rising Artists Works (RAW) event recently held at STA. The Consul advised that Iran will send performance groups to participate in next year’s RAW event. He also hoped that STA would visit Iran to participate in the theatre festival, film festival and other art festivals there.
