Recently, the 7th Art Universities Stage Performance Week was held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. “The Big Wig”, the graduation play of the postgraduate students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, participated in this event and was staged on 5 November. “The Big Wig” is a youthful and inspirational “road play”. It is the stage version of an adventure tour of life. It reveals the realities of the society in laughter and tears and also delivers the inspiration energy that people should have in the “small era” of today.
Ms Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, attended the performance on 5 November and met with all members of the casts. The National Centre for the Performing Arts was a full house on that evening. During the performance, the 200 square meter LED screen and real car on the stage presented a naked eye 3D effect, and the fantastic storylines of play also attracted the audience. The warm response of the audience made “The Big Wig” one of the highlights of the 7th Art University Stage Performance Week, a well-deserved recognition beyond any doubt.
