On 20 October, during the Rising Artists’ Works 2014, the screening of “After School” documentary series was held at the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). The screening was organized by STA’s Documentary Film Studio. The persons-in-charge and relevant teachers from STA’s Film and TV Academy, Media Research Centre and Documentary Film Studio attended the screening.
The screening was moderated by Mr Luo Xin, chief commentator and TV host of Shanghai Oriental TV, who engaged the students who have created these documentaries, guests of honor who are the main characters in these documentaries, and audience for active exchanges. The participants watched the documentaries together and had cordial exchanges. The Documentary Film Studio presented a combined set of these documentaries named “After School” to each guest of honor, which has been published officially by the National Publishing House.
The screening consisted of five sessions with 20 documentaries that are the original creations of the students. There were three categories of films:“After School” documentary series featuring youth related themes; this year’s graduation works of postgraduate students; undergraduate students’ award-winning works in this year’s student film festivals at home and abroad.
